Malt Coast Brewery is based on Branthill Farm, just outside Wells-next-the-Sea in North Norfolk.
Sandy loam over chalk soil, low rainfall and spring sea mists create the unique conditions for growing prized barley. Barley is the heart and soul of beer and the Maris Otter variety grown at Branthill Farm has long been fabled. It’s so good they export it to California.
They do however keep some for themselves and brew four core beers – a Pale Ale, an Amber Ale, and IPA and a Black IPA, as well as a summer special – a Farm Table Saison.
