We’ve been waiting a long time for the Distillery to release The Norfolk – Popcorn. Several years ago they spent some time experimenting with Bourbon type ingredients and eventually settled on a top secret mix of maize, rye and barley as their core cereals. The resulting matured whisky has caused huge excitement with the team at the distillery, as it is far better than ever predicted. It was recently sent to their members to try and the feedback has been wonderful, with some saying it tastes Bourbon-esque, others that it is incredibly easy to drink and is rich and smooth. For those wondering why Popcorn…? The whisky is made using lots of Maize, just the same as popcorn..!

Description
The English Distillery’s grain whiskies have always been different and open up a new world of whisky to those lucky enough to taste some. The popcorn continues this and takes it further. This whisky has a flavour profile reminiscent of top notch bourbon. The aroma gives you wafts of honeycomb, chocolate and sourbread; take a sip and those aromas are replaced with wonderful notes of toffee apple, nuts and gentle wood, with just a hint of pepper. Leave the whisky in the glass for a while and the pepper disappears to be replaced with sweet vanilla. The best description they have had, by a member of the team was “The finish is just magnificent, warming and feels like a hug in a glass”
